Rakshabandhan


GURUPOORNIMA :

         On 31st Gurupoornima was celebrated.On the importance of the day Smt. Ambika delivered a speech. Students sang bhajan on Gurumahima. Flower were offered at the holy feet of the guru Vyasa by the teachers and students. Competitions were conducted for the students from UKG -7th std on guru shlokas.


INDEPENDENCE DAY :       

         On 150th August Independence Day was celebrated Sri Ravi kumar was the chief guest. He is a retired bank manager. He had worked in different banks in Bangalore and Pondichery. He unfurled the flag and took the Guard of Honour. Students did march past with bands. They received a great applause from the public. They also displayed  different formations.





 RAKSHABANDHAN CELEBRATION:

          On 29th August Rakshabandhan was celebrated in grand way. Smt. Kaveri ( one of the teachers ) delivered a speech on the importance of Rakshabandhan. Students sang bhajans on Krishna and Radha.  The teachers of LKG and UKG performed arati to the students and tied colourful rakhis on their wrists. Students from 1st to 10th  tied rakhis. Then teachers went to six villages to tie rakhis around Kallubalu( VKV ). About 1000  rakhis were tied to the students of Anganvadi .





KRISHNA JANMASTAMI :

         On 5th Sept. 2015 Krishna Janmastami was celebrated with great pomp and show. Students from LKG to 5th std. dressed up as Radha and Krishna. Students sang, bhajans and performed dance. A competition was held for mothers to enact as Yashoda with their kid as Krishna. The whole assembly-hall was surcharged with spiritual fervour.
  









TEACHER'S DAY :

      On 7th Sept. 2015 Monday Teachers day was celebrated with devotion. Sri Manu Kumar ( one of the teachers ) spoke about Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Students of  9th & 10th took classes from LKG to 8th. They sang song on Gurumahima and shared their experiences of the day. Tokens of gratitude were handed over to all the staff members from Vivekananda Kendra.



         
       

        
UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD DAY :

          On 11th Sept. 2015 Friday Universal Brotherhood Day was celebrated with pomp and show in a befitting manner. Sri V.S. Srinivas Murthy a retired  Head Master of Sri Nithyananda Swamy High School Jigani. He honoured VKV SSLC toppers 2014-15. A mother participated in Krishna - Yashoda fancy dress competition. She was rewarded on the same day.




   

                                                                     
GOWRI GANESH CHATURTHI :
        The pooja was performed amidst rituals and chanting manthras. Students from different classes  sang bhajans on Ganesh and Gowri. There was a procession at the time of immersion ceremony.
