Pardeep Dalal, Officer Commanding, Karnataka and Kerala Sub Area Signal Section Report Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Kallubalu celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm on 15 August 2026 at the PT Usha Ground. The programme was organised to commemorate India's independence and to instil the values of patriotism, unity and responsibility among the students. The programme began with anchoring by Bhavyashree H. V. and Pushyami R., followed by a soulful prayer presented by Anitha Kumari. Bhavana R. delivered the welcome speech and introduced the distinguished Chief Guest, Lt. Col. Pardeep Dalal, Officer Commanding, Karnataka and Kerala Sub Area Signal Section. The national spirit of the occasion was heightened by the rendition of Vande Mataram, followed by the flag hoisting ceremony in the presence of the Chief Guest, guests, teachers, students and parents. The March Past by the school band, led by Sri. Parappa, was a disciplined and impressive presentation. The cultural programme continued with the Naada Geethe by the Class X students and a Raita Geete presented by Sri. Parappa. Chandrakala Basavaraj Ji delivered an informative talk on the importance of Independence Day. The students presented a variety of colourful cultural performances, including a Fancy Dress presentation by the KG children, group dances by Thanushree's and Kruthi's teams, and a patriotic drama by the students. These performances showcased the creativity, confidence and patriotic spirit of the students. The Chief Guest's speech was an important part of the programme. His presence and inspiring words motivated the students to become responsible citizens and contribute positively to the nation. A special song about "Shaheed Captain M.V.Pranjal Shourya Chakra (Prosthumous)"was also presented by the Vaishnavi team. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Sharanya, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, guests, management, teachers, students and everyone who contributed to the successful celebration. The programme ended with Shanti Mantra by Prathima of class X. The celebration was a memorable and meaningful occasion that beautifully combined patriotism, discipline, cultural expression and national pride. The message displayed on the invitation, “Arise, awake and stop not till the goal is reached,” added further inspiration to the celebration and encouraged the students to work towards building a stronger India. Overall, the 80th Independence Day celebration was conducted successfully and left everyone with a deep sense of pride, unity and love for their nation.
