 REPORT ON GURU POORNIMA CELEBRATION

Date: 1st August 2026, Saturday  

Occasion: Guru Poornima - First Kendras Utsava

On 1st August 2026, Saturday, our Vidyalaya celebrated its first Kendras Utsava, Guru Poornima, with great devotion and enthusiasm. The day was dedicated to expressing gratitude to our Gurus who guide us on the right path.

Proceedings of the Programme: 

The programme commenced with a Starting Prayer by Yuvraj of Class 4, followed by a Welcome Address by Kavita K of Class 10.

The Aarati was performed by our Chief Guests, Aa. Nalini Didi and Medha Akka, to Vyasa Maharshi. This was followed by Gurustotra Chanting by Bhargavi of Class 9 and a Dance Performance by Kumari Santana and Nandini of Class 6.

The KG students presented a colourful Fancy Dress show. Bhavana spoke on the Importance of the Day and explained how a Guru plays a vital role in a student’s life.

The ABL students presented a melodious Action Dance on the song "Kalisi Guruve Kalisi", followed by a Bhajan by winner Team, Maa Sharadha. 

Sharath of Class 3 demonstrated Kattivarase, an ancient martial art practised by our kings.

A thought-provoking Drama on the life of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa was presented by Aravind and team. The drama was highly appreciated and inspired students to develop more respect for their teachers.

Prize Distribution to KG students was done by Medha Akka.  

The Chief Guest, Nalini Didi, addressed the gathering. She shared that she learned many new things after visiting our Vidyalaya. She emphasized 5 important values that students should inculcate in life:

1. Be active like a crow

2. Have focus and patience like a crane  

3. Sleep like a dog but be alert like it

4. Do not have attachment towards food

5. Be open-minded to learn anything

The second round of Prize Distribution for winners of Gurustotra and Guru Bhajan was done by Mitra Didi.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Samhith of Class 10, followed by the Ending Prayer led by Naveen of Class 9. The celebration of Guru Poornima was meaningful and left a lasting impression on all the students and staff.
