Report on “Chhote Scientist” Workshop for Teachers
Date:10 August,2026 Venue: Patanjali Hall, VKV Kallubalu Total Participants: 23 Teachers Teachers from 8 Other Schools: 15 Trainers: 4 VKV Teachers:4 Four trainers conducted the various sessions. The programme began with the chanting of the Shanti Mantra, followed by Vivekavani, creating a peaceful and inspiring atmosphere. As an engaging activity to develop observation skills, Anjali Didi led the participants in an action song. The activity demonstrated how simple and enjoyable activities can be used to improve observation and attention among students. The main sessions were conducted by Raviraj Ji, Tushar Ji, Ranjeet Ji and Vibhavari Didi. The sessions focused on observation, classroom activities, memory testing, differentiation and connecting classroom learning with real-life experiences. Raviraj Ji particularly explained how the five sense organs can be effectively used to develop students’ observation skills and deepen their understanding of the world around them. Teachers were encouraged to help students observe carefully rather than simply memorising information. The workshop also highlighted the importance of activity-based and experiential learning, enabling teachers to make science more interesting, meaningful and connected to students’ everyday lives. During the programme, Ramesh Ji and Nagabhushan Ji graced the occasion as guests. They addressed the participants on the serious issue of alcohol consumption and its harmful impact on Indian youth and society. Their message encouraged teachers to create awareness among students about making healthy and responsible choices. 

Overall, the Chhote Scientist workshop was an enriching and meaningful learning experience. It provided teachers with practical ideas and activities that can be incorporated into the classroom to nurture curiosity, observation, scientific thinking and experiential learning among students.
